Syksy meni niin vauhdilla, että tuntui, etten ehtinyt tehdä oikein mitään näperryksiä... No, ehdin tietysti jotakin ja osa niistä löytyy viime vuoden postauksista, mutta joskus syyhyää sormet niin, että on ihan pakko päästä askartelemaan jotakin kunnollista ja silloin tuntuu ihan siltä, että ei ole saanut tehdä "yhtään mitään" pitkään aikaan...
Tätä juttua oli mietitty jo pitkään, mutta nyt päästiin yhtäkkiä vauhtiin, kun haettiin kangaskaupasta ihan muuta juttua, mutta tyttö innostui yhdestä kankaasta. Seuraavana oli suuntana toinen kangaskauppa, josta saatiin ohutta superlonia ja kalustevanua. Sitten rakennusliike, jotta saatiin ohutta levyä ja muutama puukeppi, jotta päädystä saataisiin tukeva ja tasakorkuinen.
Nitoja lataukseen ja ensin hiukan puusepän töitä. Ensin naulasimme kepit paikalleen, sitten mies ruuvasi porakoneella levyn paikalleen. Seuraavaksi nidottiin superloni tiukasti kiinni, sitten siihen päälle kerros kalustevanua. Muuten helppoa, mutta kulmia piti hiukan sommitella, jotta ne laskeutuisivat tasaisesti. Siinä välissä ehti tulla jo pimeä, mutta olihan meillä tuo lukulamppu... ;-) Viimeiseksi pingotin kankaan vielä paikalleen. Tyttö pystyi auttelemaan monessa kohtaa, joten hauskaa oli! Lopulta en saanut kunnollista kuvaa valmiista sängynpäädystä, koska ehti tulla niin hämärä, että värit eivät oikein päässeet oikeuksiinsa. Täytyy ottaa parempi kuva päivänvalossa.

I had a feeling that I did not do almost any crafts last fall... I know, it's only a feeling. I did few things and recorded some of them here in the blog, too, but today we had the funniest project for few last months!
We had been planning to fix the headboard of our daughter's bed for awhile. Now we got started because she found material that fitted perfectly to her taste and to the project at hand. We needed some upholstery foam and polyester batting, then also some plywood and wood sticks for fixing the base so that it was evenly high and solid enough to lean on.
The entire thing took only 2 hours to do. My husband started with the "carpenter" jobs and I did the upholstering & co. (First a layer of foam, then layer of batting and then the actual material, each layer stretched as tight as possible.) Our daughter was involved in all stages and photographed part of the process... She could do many things by herself, so this was a fun project to do together. Finally, however, it had got so dark that I did not get a proper photo of the final product! I'll fix that problem once there is enough daylight...
This was a good start for a new year!
